We took the boys to GatorFest today. They have it every year in Anahuac, which is about twenty miles from us so we decided to go check it out.
Anahuac is deemed "The Gator Capital of Texas" so needless to say they're a little gator crazy there.
Jeremy and Houston ate Gator on a Stick, but they were also serving Gator Kabobs, Gator Nachos, Fried Gator, and Bar-B-Que Gator. Yummy! I opted for just a normal fajita taco and it was superb.
They had air boat rides, which looked really cool and we totally wanted to ride in one but the lines were insanely long. There were also carnival rides, food vendors and gators galore.
The boys got to get up close and personal with a gator that had just been killed. They both thought it was pretty cool.
We watched a guy juggle fire and listened to a little live music. It was so hot and muggy that we didn't stay as long as we had planned.
Our intention was to go watch the Eli Young Band play, but we didn't quite make it. We'll have to settle for Houston's photo with the band's mascot!
And of course, what's any type of fair, carnival, or festival without a funnel cake, or two. And dippin' dots!
And lastly, Houston got to hold a baby alligator. So so awesome! He wanted so badly to touch one and then he got to hold it too. He was in heaven!
He even got a sticker that say "I touched a live alligator" which he's already proudly displayed in his School Day's Scrapbook. As much as I begged him too, Austin didn't want to hold one. :(
All in all, the boys had a pretty fun day and now we're back home and they're out in the courtyard playing football with all the neighbor kids. Lovin' life.
XOXO,
Stacy
